Student Housing practices

  • Bottle fillers in all residence halls and dining commons
  • ENERGY STAR, CEE Tier 3 washing machines
  • Toilet retrofit to install 1.6 gpf models
  • Chemical-free alternative water treatment systems
  • All bathrooms have 1.0 gpm (gallons per minute) faucets and 1.5 gpm showerheads
  • Irrigation based on computer system that accounts for current conditions

What you can do

  • Take shorter showers, aim for five minutes or less
  • Turn off the faucet when not using the water
  • Use the washing machine for full loads only
  • Don't use the toilet as a wastebasket
  • Report leaks using Student Housing's online Service Request service
