Overview of Dining on Campus
Dining Plans in the Residence Halls and Student Housing Apartments (SHA)
University Dining Services provides meal plans paired with a declining balance (debit) program, Aggie Cash for residence hall and SHA residents. For more information, refer to the Dining Plans webpage.
Dining commons (DC) are large, state-of-the-art facilities with dining rooms and food preparation platforms that serve a variety of dishes in an al-a-carte style system. Each residence hall area has one DC. For more information, refer to the Dining Commons page.

A convenience store is located in each residence hall area. Convenience stores offer an assortment of snacks, cold drinks, ice cream and candy. For more information, refer to Convenience Stores page.
DC Dining Plan Eligibility
Residence Hall Students
Residence hall students, as a condition of their Residence Hall Contract, are automatically enrolled in a DC dining plan. Residence hall students may select which plan they want, and at certain times during the year, may change from one plan to another.
SHA students receive, as part of their SHA Contract, the option to add a DC dining plan. SHA students may select which plan they want, or no plan at all, and at certain times during the year, may change from one plan to another.
Non-Residence Hall Students, Staff and Faculty
Dining plans may also be purchased by UC Davis students who do not live in the residence halls or SHA, as well as UC Davis staff and faculty. Visit the Join the Club webpage for specific information about available dining plans and rates, or to purchase a dining plan, contact University Dining Services by email or call 752-8243, or visit the Dining Services Meal Card Office, located on the 3rd floor of the Segundo Services Building.

There are many places on campus to eat, including several options at the UC Davis Coffee House and Silo Union Complex. Go to the University Dining Services homepage and click on Locations > Retail Dining for even more options.
